Calvin
One day I came home to a dog, not my dogs, but a rottweiler. Dad explained that he had found the dog outside our house and that the dog was lost and had no tag or a chip to identify the dogs name, owners, or where he lived.
When Mom came home she was delighted to find the new dog in the laundry room, snoring quietly. When she came near to scratch him behind the ear she smelt an awful stench. Thats when we discovered the dog had an ear infection. Mom then washed him and cleaned his ears so he smelled okay, for now.
The next day Mom contacted the neighbors online and even went to some doors, but none knew who the dog belonged to. A couple days later someone responded to our search for the dog saying, “I know who the dog belongs to. Their my next door neighbors.” As fast as a cheetah, we went and found the owners of the dog.
Apparently, the dog had jumped over the fence and ran to the next neighborhood. The dogs name was Calvin. “He sure looks like a Calvin,” Mom replied.
Driving back to our happy neighborhood, we were both happy and sad. Happy because we had helped a dog and a family reunite. Sad because we will miss Calvin a lot (our dogs won’t, though).
We love you, Calvin!
